Summer Exhibition – Yasmin Marsh

Yasmin was born in Oxford in 1966. She began sketching and painting in both watercolours and oils in around 1979. Her subjects at this time were mainly still life based on branches of trees and dried flowers and portraits of literary figures, Samuel Beckett and Thomas Hardy. She studied English Literature and Fine Art, graduating in 1991 from the University College of Ripon and York St. John. In 1996 she qualified as an Art Therapist from the University of Hertfordshire and worked in mental health until the birth of her first child in 1999.

Her current paintings are oils on both canvas and board. They are mainly sunsets, landscapes and seascapes inspired by visits to Iceland, Morocco, Denmark and the Norfolk Coast. She is interested in trying to capture the feelings evoked by the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Yasmin has enjoyed participating in Cambridge Open Studios in both 2009 and 2010. She has exhibited at the b Gallery in Toddington, Bedfordshire and Darryl Nantais Gallery in Linton, Cambridgeshire.
